Restoration Window Systems, LLC is a company in the St Paul, Minnesota area that is dedicated to preserving older residential windows by a variety of weatherstripping, counter-balance conversion systems, and energy-efficient storm window solutions.
The goal is to preserve as much as possible the original window while enhancing the efficiency and operation.
Our specialty is old windows.
Although most of our work is on windows dating from 1880 to 1950, we also have solutions for newer (1950+) windows. We work with double-hung and casement (inswing) windows.
We provide a variety of solutions for problems with older windows.
The correct solution depends on the nature of the problem, configuration of the windows and expectations of the customer.
The most common problems people have with old windows are:
- Drafts (leaks)
- Operation (sashes don't move or won't stay up)
- Rattles
- Meeting rails don't line up (sash lock can't be locked)
- Condensation (water or frost)
- Glazing putty deteriorated
- Broken glass
All of these problems and more can be reduced or eliminated using our energy enhancement solutions
